This internship opportunity can fulfill:
1. Work-Based Learning (WBL) Credit
Many Oklahoma schools offer Work-Based Learning (WBL) or Career Internship programs, allowing students to earn credit by participating in an approved internship related to a career pathway.
A dealership internship could count under Automotive Technology, Business Management, or Sales & Marketing pathways.
2. Career and Technical Education (CTE) Credit
If the student is enrolled in a CareerTech program (such as Automotive Service, Business, or Sales & Marketing), the internship could count toward CTE course requirements.
Schools often partner with Oklahoma CareerTech Centers to offer industry-aligned internship credits.
3. Elective Credit
Many schools allow internships or job shadowing experiences to count as elective credit, particularly under programs like Career Exploration or Internship-Based Learning.
4. Senior Capstone or Graduation Requirement
Some high schools require students to complete a senior project or work-based experience as part of their graduation requirement.
A dealership internship could fulfill this requirement if it aligns with the student's career goals.
5. Community Service or Leadership Credit
If the internship involves community engagement (e.g., participating in outreach programs, working with customers, or assisting in training workshops), it may count toward leadership or service-learning hours.

This Internship can fulfill:
1. Elective Credits:
High school juniors and seniors can earn elective credits through internships. For instance, students may earn up to two elective credits by participating in internships during their school day.
2. Career and Technical Education (CTE) Credits:
Internships aligned with Career and Technical Education programs can count toward CTE credits. For example, students participating in internships through programs like those at Epic Charter Schools can earn elective credits upon completing 60 hours of work and additional assignments.
3. Work-Based Learning (WBL) Credits:
Internships are a form of Work-Based Learning, allowing students to gain practical experience in their field of interest. Schools like Tecumseh High School offer credit for internships based on the completion of journals, assignments, and evaluations of job performance.
4. Individualized Career and Academic Plan (ICAP) Pathway Units:
Recent legislative changes, such as House Bill 3278, have modified graduation requirements to include six ICAP pathway units. These units can encompass core subjects and electives, including internships, tailored to a student's post-secondary goals.
